Does Your Family Feel Like A Zoo?

Does your family feel like a Zoo? Mine does. I often think ours is so crazy, people would buy tickets. Some days it is like I am fathering two cheeky monkeys, the next, sneaky snakes. By the time Wednesday arrives, I feel like I have been cornered by Roaring Lions. On Thursday they have tamed the tamer! Friday comes and I am a broken quivering wreck – that is, of course, on a bad week.

The Bible is jam-packed full of colourful narratives. Sometimes as we follow the intimate faith stories of some of its heroes we realise the Bible is a lot like a Zoo. You get your ticket and go from story to story –  peering in through the windows of time to something rare, and spectacular. Stories of transformative faith in the midst of the deprave and downright bizarre. As you wander through its pages you find you encounter Zealous Zebras, Micky taking Monkeys, Sneaky Snakes & Roaring Lions. It is all in there. We can learn some amazing lessons from some very powerful examples.
