Heart Of Worship

We’re coming back to the heart of worship

At CityHill for the just over a year, we have not had worship (singing) in our services. We have of course worshipped God in other ways.

I was reminded of the old story from Soul Survivor where Matt Redman used to be the resident worship leader. Things had become so much about who was leading worship, how cool it was and it wasn’t as Jesus centric. So Mike Pilavachi – scrapped worship for 6 months.

When worship came back this was the song that was sung…

When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that’s of worth
That will bless your heart
I’ll bring you more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what you have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart

I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about you,
It’s all about you, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about you,
It’s all about you, Jesus

This Sunday I am pleased to announce – worship (singing) is back on the menu at CityHill. Worship will take place on the first Sunday of every month. This means we will start singing very close to, if not dead on 10 am, so don’t be late. We can’t wait to see you there.
