Unexpected Gift

To set the scene it is Christmas morning in the Gray house hold, Jodi and I woke up, ignoring the desire to rush and open presents, we took some time out to pray. I realise how pious and ridiculous this sounds. But perhaps, how it reads and how it went down were totally different. There was a deep desire to connect with God, not as two individuals who have it all together, but two who desperately recognise He is the means for all things to be together in harmony and peace.

I felt drained and completely worn out. Then in the silence we received an unexpected gift… This happened, the song that started playing when you opened this page started playing, for realsies…

My phone was charging in the dock, no alarm had been set and this song is not even my alarm. This has never happened before and will probably never happen again. My phone started playing music through the dock. It wasn’t even the last song I had played. The voice that was now smoothly flowing through the dock belonged to Will Heard singing, ‘Sonnentanz’.

We sat there totally freaked out, before this occurred the last thing I had prayed was I need to hear you! This song Sonnentanz starts playing and the verse jumps out at me and was the greatest gift I could get on Christmas day.

“I just wanted to let you know, I love you, don’t ever let go, cuz the sun don’t shine when your loves round mine, I can never ever be without you!”

The concept of God loving us, never gets old. Especially at Christmas when we really know the reason He came was Easter. The lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. A God who loved us yet while we were sinners. Who loves us with an everlasting love!

Now that is some thing worth never letting go…
