Nothing Matters More

Nothing matters more than sharing the Gospel. Period. If we believe it is true, what could be a better use of ones finite time on this Earth?

“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is eLord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:5-11

Jesus priority is declared to be laying aside being in the form of God, that that is not something He feels he has to cling on to. But lays it aside to be like us, giving his life in exchange for ours in the process.

He then receives the name above every other name…

Nothing Matters More

Why does He get this? Because there is nothing that matters more, nothing higher or greater that can be done. God calls us to re-prioritise our life. To make calling our siblings (mankind) home to a relationship with their father.

This week we have to change our priorities, not just for now, but for the rest of our lives. If we want to align ourselves with God. There are somethings we can no longer to cling to. They are not bad things, but they are not the best things. They are things here and now, but they are not eternal.

Have a listen to the message from Sunday…

Often we approach this with too much pressure and get weird, like a desperate salesman trying to close a deal. That is not what this is about, today all we are exploring is the order of our priorities. Not to be overwhelmed with the weight of destiny. I personally love just opening the topic up, with no need to bring closure there and then. Unless of course the opportunity should present itself.

Relax. Share faith.
